Change the rules to Itadaki Street 3
During your turn, go to "Others (So no Ta)" and select "Goals (Mokuhyou Kingaku)". At the goals screen, hold "L" and tap "R" once. If done correctly, your font will be yellow instead of white. What this does is change the rules to Itadaki Street 3. Here's the difference:

Default Rule - When you have the goal amount, you win if you go to the bank castle.
Itadaki Street 3 rule - Even if you land on the bank castle with the goal amount, you don't necessarily win. If there's another player that has more than you (meaning they have the goal amount AND some more), they win.

VERY useful if someone's 1 space away from the castle and you're 20 spaces away and you're both going for the finish.

Extra Rules
Complete the first tournament and you will unlock the two Extra Rules in the trade shop:

Empty Lots - You can set the number of free lots on the map in free play mode.
Quick Game - Everyone starts the game with half the required gold for winning the stage. If the required gold in the stage is 10000 Gold, you start with 5000 Gold, and so on.
Empty Lots in Free-Play - Purchase at the trade shop for 50 Coins.
Quick Game in Free-Play - Purchase at the trade shop for 50 Coins.

Unlock Characters
To unlock the hidden characters, you must have the appointed amount of gold coins to trade with them:

Basch (FF) - Require 30 gold coins
Cloud (FF) - Require 30 gold coins
Kiefer (DQ) - Require 30 gold coins
Marcello (DQ) - Require 30 gold coins
Maribel (DQ) - Require 30 gold coins
Sephiroth (FF) - Require 30 gold coins
Trode (DQ) - Require 30 gold coins
Yuffie (FF) - Require 30 gold coins

Unlock Maps
To unlock the hidden maps, you must have the appointed amount of gold coins to trade with them:

Airship - Require 40 gold coins
Bhujerba - Require 40 gold coins
Dama Temple - Require 40 gold coins
Holy Ground-Gord - Require 40 gold coins
