Breakaway
When you are coming down on a breakaway, press Right Analog-stick Up. This will cause your player drop the puck to his skate, then kick it back up to his skate. This is the most highly effective move in the game.

Easy goals
While holding your shot, move the Left Analog-stick to find open netting for an easy goal. This can be done for any shot.

Send a player in one on one with the goalie. Pass the puck back to either your Right Wing or Left Wing. As soon as your stick leaves the ice, the goalie dives and the net will be wide open for a shot.

To get a easy and funny shorthanded goal, when you get control of the puck take it to your end. Slap the puck down to the other end. Normally you would get an icing call unless you turned it off. When the puck is heading down the ice, get the player nearest to your blue line and move towards the other team's end. As the goalie gets the puck, go on the opposite side of the rink that he is on. The goalie will usually pass the puck to his teammate. As soon as he does, if you are in the correct position it should be easy for you to intercept that pass. You should have a wide empty net to shoot at.

When coming in on the net, move Left Analog-stick Left-to-Right repeatedly and quickly. The goalie will almost always dive, leaving a lot of room for an easy high shot.

Dynasty mode: High rated prospects
To get a high rated prospect you do not need to upgrade your scouting report. First, save the game after the season ends. Then, advance to the draft. Draft a player or just go into the second round. Look at the highest overall draft pick, load back your season, and draft that person.
